Medical History of Nandrolone
Nandrolone esters have been around since the late 1950s and rank amongst some of the most widely used androgen and anabolic steroids on the market today.
Not only are the steroids used for medical purposes (particularly in helping individuals with low testosterone levels increase their overall testosterone count) but they are also used as performance-enhancing drugs and supplements, too.
The origin of this androgenic and anabolic steroids began when researchers wanted to come up with a solution that could fight back against serious muscle wasting medical conditions.
Nandrolone helped to pioneer a whole suite of medical solutions aimed at treating conditions like anemia, osteoporosis, breast cancer, muscle wasting syndromes, and a host of other issues that can lead to muscular degeneration as well.
Distinct from some of the more modern anabolic and androgenic steroids available today in the delivery mechanism used to take advantage of the steroids, you aren’t able to take this compound orally and have it produce any real significant results.
Instead, Nandrolone has to be injected directly into muscular tissue or body fat for it to have any impact whatsoever.
Throughout the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s Nandrolone was widely used by the medical community. Around 1965 or so the bodybuilding and athletic communities started to take advantage of this substance as a performance-enhancing compound. In the 1980s Nandrolone would be experimented with as an AIDS solution as well as a medical treatment used to support cornea healing.
Today, however, Nandrolone is considered a controlled substance in the United States. It’s no longer possible to get your hands on Nandrolone over-the-counter (United States, at least) legally, though there are black market and international resources that continue to provide this substance to those that want to use Nandrolone without a medical prescription.
Benefits of Nandrolone
The big benefits of Nandrolone are similar to any other anabolic and androgenic steroid in that it allows you to build more muscle mass faster than you would have been able to before as well as its unique ability to increase your speed and athletic performance.
Other benefits of Nandrolone include:
- The ability to heal and recover from injury and intense training much faster than previously
- Improvements to overall cognitive capabilities, including mental clarity and improve memory
- Increased energy levels, including more consistent energy levels on a day-to-day basis
- Increased libido, confidence, and self-esteem
- Increased aggression and decisiveness
… And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
It’s important to remember that Nandrolone, as a legitimate androgenic and anabolic steroid, remains one of the “old guard” of performance-enhancing substances and compounds. The reason it continues to be so popular almost 60 years after it was first discovered is because it works and delivers the benefits that it promises.
Potential Side Effects of Nandrolone
On the flip side of things, Nandrolone usage isn’t for everyone.
Like every other androgenic and anabolic steroid (legitimate steroid) there are some very real and potentially serious side effects that can be possible when you use Nandrolone on a regular basis.
There have been individuals reporting instances of carcinoma of the breast as well as carcinoma of the prostate (breast and prostate cancer) being discovered after they used Nandrolone on a regular and prolonged basis. Men are also likely to come down with gynecomastia if they continue to use Nandrolone to elevate their testosterone (and, inadvertently, estrogen levels) for too long a period of time.
Acne, hair loss and hair growth, irritated skin, irritability, and uncontrollable aggression, and a shrinking of the testicles are just some of the other side effects that can be possible should people use or abuse Nandrolone for too long a time.
Dosage Details for Nandrolone
Individuals that are going to move forward with Nandrolone as a performance-enhancing drug are going to want to consider using a very small dosage initially if only to understand exactly how their body is going to respond to this powerful chemical cocktail.
Individual dosages of just 50 mg per day are recommended for those just getting started, and individuals are only going to want to go with an initial Nandrolone cycle that stretches for between 8 weeks and 10 weeks before they stop taking this substance altogether during a post cycle therapy protocol.
PCT should be carried out immediately after you discontinue using Nandrolone and a proper PCT protocol should last for anywhere between three weeks and four weeks to give your system a hard reset.
Most people find that they are able to maintain upwards of 90% of the lean muscle mass and performance results they were able to generate with Nandrolone during their cycle. 10% is usually lost during the PCT protocol – but much of that is put right back on (and then some) when a follow-up cycle of Nandrolone begins.
At the end of the day, whether or not you choose to move forward with Nandrolone is entirely up to you.
Finding a legitimate source of this anabolic and androgenic steroid is another piece of the puzzle you’ll have to tackle, particularly if you aren’t able to get a legitimate medical prescription from your primary care physician for this steroid.
If using Nandrolone you’ll want to stick to the dosing directions highlighted above (or the ones recommended to you from a medical provider) but you’ll also want to make sure that you are prepared for PCT protocols after your initial “on cycle” block of time.
The PCT process is a big part of avoiding the potentially serious and sometimes life-threatening side effects that Nandrolone can bring to the table.
This is a powerful, consistent, and reliable performance-enhancing substance when you get right down to it. There’s a reason that Nandrolone remains as popular today (if not even more popular) as it was nearly 60 years ago when it was first discovered and that’s because it’s able to provide real and measurable results – something that not all anabolic steroids or their over-the-counter alternatives can deliver as consistently as this one does.
